Financial and Banking Studies is a text written to communicate concepts, techniques, and methods of analysis in financial and banking to both finance and nonfinancial majors. When we write this edition we have four goals: (1) create a text that would help students make better in financial and banking works; (2) provide a book that could be used in the financial and banking course; (3) motivate students by demonstrating that finance is both interesting and relevant, and (4) make the book clear enough so that students could go through the material without wasting time.
We have kept in our mind the level of the standard English among the students and have treated all the topics in a simple language and lucid style, which will enable them to grasp the essence of the subject. Though there is no dearth of books on this subject in the local market.
The title indicates, the book combines theory and practical applications. The structure has three important advantages: (1) you early exposure to major concepts in financial and banking, (2) let you test and demonstrate your comprehension of financial and banking by questions and problems at the end of each chapter, (3) help you enhance your understand of what financial and banking is all about. Each chapters in this book are include:
1- learning Objectives.
2- Key concepts that contains the main ideas introduced in the chapter.
3- The tests questions includes: self-test questions, unsolved questions and problems, and the answers of the self-test questions.
4- The meanings of the terminologies in Arabic.
We shall be grateful if the mistakes, deficiencies and suggestions are brought to our knowledge by careful and benevolent readers for further improvement of this book.
